Join us at Kilts Farm on October 21 and 22, 2023 for an intermediate level course in blacksmithing. This two-day course is designed for folks that have some of the fundamentals in blacksmithing and an interest in producing hardware typical of the Mohawk Valley. Students will examine the pintle, hinge, pull, latch, and hasp hardware in the collection at the Kilts Farm. They have the opportunity to select and recreate these early Palatine forged masterpieces.
Students will expand forging, hammering, drawing, and bending skills as well as creating location-specific hardware to expand their blacksmithing abilities.
The $225 fee for the workshop covers materials and will help Kilts Farm maintain its collection.
Bring a lunch. Soda and snacks will be provided. Assistance with local housing is available.
