At Kilts Farm, we are passionate about preserving and sharing traditional crafts. We offer a diverse range of hands-on workshops, including blacksmithing, cooking, weaving, spinning, textile identification, apple cider making, maple syrup making, tinsmithing, woodworking, and timber framing. These are just some of our current and past offerings, and we are always looking to expand our educational opportunities. Keep an eye on our events page for new and exciting workshops!
Our workshop instructors are experienced tradesmen and tradeswomen, many of whom have careers rooted in history museums who embody the spirit of traditional crafts. They bring a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience, ensuring a rich learning environment for all participants.
We welcome participants of all skill levels to our workshops, including absolute beginners! Our goal is to make traditional trades accessible to everyone. Unless a workshop description explicitly states that advanced skills are required, you can assume it is designed to be beginner-friendly. We encourage you to join us and discover the joy of hands-on learning!
Our workshops are designed for immersive learning and typically range from one to three days, with three days being the maximum. To ensure a personalized and high-quality learning experience, we intentionally keep our class sizes small, usually limited to five or six participants. This allows for ample individual attention and hands-on instruction from our skilled tradesmen.
Our workshops are priced to reflect the unique, hands-on learning experience and expert instruction you'll receive. Typically, workshop costs range from $125 to $275, with some specialized offerings going up to $300. All workshops include a delicious lunch, ensuring you're well-fueled for a day of learning. Participants also benefit from personalized instruction in small class sizes and often get to take home their project-oriented creations, such as items made in tinsmithing or woodworking, or delicious samples from cooking classes.
Information about cancellations and refunds can be found in our Cancellation Policy.
Yes, ample parking is available at Kilts Farm. Please note that we are located at the end of a dead-end dirt road, offering a truly rural experience. Due to our 38-acre farm environment, cell service can be minimal, and we recommend dressing in casual attire suitable and solid closed toe shoes for being outdoors.
