Alan Curboy is a Massachusetts native having grown up near New England’s largest outdoor living history museum that depicts life in the Northeast from 1790-1840. Following a 26 yr career Alan’s life abruptly changed with a life altering health event. In recovery he became active with interest in history becoming a docent at that museum and learning the craft of blacksmithing and diving into learning about historic trades and life at the onset of the industrial revolution.
However his interest did not stop there, Alan sought out to receive training and instruction from some of todays top broom makers in turn he now shares what he has learned through demonstrating and instructing others in his learned crafts.
He can be found on social media sites like Instagram and Facebook as Lucky Nail Blacksmith where he has amassed a small following of folks similarly interested in historic craft and teachings.
